Baby Furniture Recalls, Update
On May 8th, the manufacture Baby Dreams has announced baby furniture recalls including their cribs and accessories. Specifically, any furniture pieces that have been finished with a vintage grey paint. The lead levels in the paint exceed federal lead regulations, posing serious health hazards if ingested.

IKEA Crib Mattress Recall
The economy furniture giant came forward on Friday to expand their recall of crib mattresses to include approximately 300,000 units in the United States alone, up from the original 169,000 it recalled back in January. Preceding the recall there were two separate instances of an infant becoming temporarily entrapped by the crib and the mattress.

There should not be a gap larger than two fingers width between the crib and the mattress, if such a gap exists, the mattress is defective. Another way to check is to the measurements of the unit, as recalled mattresses are 52” x 27 ½ “. Finally, look for the identification label. Sultans and Vyssas made prior to May 4, 2014 have been recalled.
In the event that there is a gap of more than 2” between the crib and the mattress, discontinue using it IMMEDIATELY. Bring the mattress to any IKEA and receive an exchange or a full refund.
