A 22-year-old Bronx woman was run over by three trains on Sunday, June 29 — and lived to tell the tale.
The woman was visiting Times Square when she fell onto the tracks around 6 a.m. Bystanders said she was able to push herself into the trough between the tracks and thus escaped being hit by not one, not two, but three trains. Apparently, the driver of the second train saw her, but there wasn’t enough time to stop his own train or the one that came immediately after him.
The woman broke her shoulder in the fall, and surveillance footage seems to show that she was conscious the whole time. Due to her broken shoulder, she couldn’t get off the tracks herself. It wasn’t until paramedics arrived that she was rescued. The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital, in Murray Hill, where she was treated for her broken shoulder. She was released after a short observation period. She declined to speak to reporters about the incident.
