Teenager Killed In Harlem Car Accident Involving Stolen SUV On Morningside Avenue
HARLEM, CALIFORNIA (March 17, 2020) – A teenager has tragically died in a car accident along Morningside Avenue.
New York Police Department officials are saying that the accident took place by the intersection of 116th Street. For reasons that remain under investigation a 15-year-old boy stole an SUV and flipped it over.
The SUV struck a 13-year-old boy leaving him seriously injured. Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the victim.
Despite life-saving measures he later died due to his injuries. An investigation remains ongoing.

All drivers have a legal responsibility to exercise due care in order to avoid hitting pedestrians in lawfully marked crosswalks. According to New York Vehicle Code 1146, “A driver of a motor vehicle who causes physical injury as defined in article ten of the penal law to a pedestrian or bicyclist while failing to exercise due care in violation of subdivision (a) of this section, shall be guilty of a traffic infraction punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than fifteen days or by both such fine and imprisonment.” Any person that is injured in a car accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim.
