A pedestrian was struck and killed in Williamsberg earlier this month. A 27-year-old Greenpoint man, Martin Celmer, died from his injuries after being hit crossing Metropolitan Avenue. According to NYPD, Martin Clemer was crossing Metropolitan Ave five days later at Bellevue Hospital. The driver of the Toyota Camry name has not been release and he remained on the scene.
No arrests have been made, however the investigation is still ongoing. An NYPD spokesperson could not say why Collisions Investigation Squad (CIS) released the investigation details today, nearly ten days after Celmer’s death.
As with any fatal car accident, it is an unfortunate and sad situation for everyone involved especially injured or deceased family. Hiring an attorney to handle a wrongful death or personal injury matter is one of the last things on someone’s mind however, retaining an attorney early on can help you better cope with the situation. Personal injury attorneys tend to be familiar with these types of unfortunate situations and can assist you in a variety of ways. Also, allowing a personal injury attorney to research an accident scene immediately can provide important and helpful information that can greatly assist your case.
Our condolences go out to Martin Celmer’s family and we are truly sorry for your loss.
