Liability In Hamburg Pedestrian Accidents
Every driver in New York has a responsibility to take measures to avoid hitting pedestrians. Drivers should slow down at night and during times of reduced visibility. According to Traffic Law S 1151, “When traffic-control signals are not in place or not in operation the driver of a vehicle shall yield the right of way, slowing down or stopping if need be to so yield, to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within a crosswalk on the roadway upon which the vehicle is traveling.”
Victims of car accidents may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. It’s important that accidents are properly investigated and that evidence is being preserved. A pedestrian accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
