Liability In Car Accidents
All drivers have a legal responsibility to operate their vehicles in a reasonably safe manner and take steps to avoid causing accidents. This includes following vehicles at a safe distance. There is no reason that one car should ever rear-end another vehicle on the freeway. These types of accidents tend to take place when driver’s are:
- Speeding
- Distracted
- Intoxicated
- Fatigued
The family of any victim that died in a car accident may have legal recourse through a wrongful death claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. There are, however, statute of limitations associated with filing a civil claim. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your legal rights are.
